Heaven on Earth!
Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia
It's definately Fall here in Blue Ridge, Georgia! It has finally stopped raining for a little bit and we are thrilled! We welcome the cooler weather and love the crisp, clean air that surrounds us. I feel so lucky to live in such a magnificant place surrounded by god's greatest gifts. It is so easy to feel inspired and rejuvinated by just driving around and admiring the beautiful scenery. There's a little saying "When you're in the mountains you're closer to heaven" and I would have to agree!

This photo was taken at the end leaf change last year. The leaves are just starting to change this year. Due to the massive amounts of rain this year we are expecting the leaves to last longer than usual. Now you can see why so many people from all over the South choose Blue Ridge as their fall getaway destination.

This is what you can expect to see when you look out of your cabin window during this time of year! You can experience this view from one of our luxury rental cabins or from your own cabin! This is the time of year when we will see more buyers looking for thier own piece of heaven on earth.
October has proven year after year to be one of our busiest months during the entire year for both cabin rentals and real esate and now you can see why! On top of the scenery there are tons of festivals in the surrounding areas. Blue Ridge is acutally having a "Harvest Sale" this weekend at our local farmers market. This has been a tradition here for as long as I can remember. The mother of a childhood friend of mine has always spent countless hours making ceramics and hand painting them each year for this "Harvest Sale." You can expect to find all types of handmade and local made arts and crafts at this festival... wooden pic-nic tables, paintings, bird houses, decorative gourds, wood carvings, etc...
There are several other things you can do while you are here to create memories that will last a lifetime. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway offers special train rides in which the train will stop next to the Toccoa River at a hidden pumpkin patch and let each guest choose a special pumpkin to take home! That is certainly an experince a young child will treasure! For those that are looking for an activity to do during the evening hours or at night you can check out The Lilly Pad. They have just opened a very unique mini golf course in the woods! The wooded golf course is something to see during any season, but for the next two weeks it is haunted!! The course is lit with orange and green lights, has hidden fog machines and watch for the gouls! Our guests can also use their exclusive MTV Discount card for 20% off a golf game!
On October 31, Halloween evening, Blue Ridge will host the Halloween Safe Zone in downtown Blue Ridge. The streets are blocked off in downtown Blue Ridge and the merchants set up tables and give out all sorts of treats. There are typically thousands of children and parents that enjoy this local tradition. It is a blast to see all the unique costumes and the kids love it!
