The Beginning of a New Year
2010
2010! Amazing! Here in Blue Ridge Georgia we have welcomed in the new year with temperatures of below freezing all week. We have seen a little bit of snow here but not enough to cover the ground. It's the usual winter in the mountains with our snow, wind, and rain. With the occasional pretty days. Blue Ridge has such a varying climate. If you came to Blue Ridge, then came back five months later, it seems like a different place. It's just how this little town works.
There are many things coming up in 2010. The first couple months are a little slow because of the temperature but that opens up the option for snow to come, and a chance to get some great pictures. When everything warms up to a nice temperature, everyone hits the lake for a boat ride or a swim. The hiking in the North Georgia Mountains is one of the best areas to hike also. The trees become full with leaves, the ground turns green again, and it changes to a new place. Also, in the spring all the Blue Grass Picking starts up. You have Picking in the Park to look forward to from May to September. After this, the apple festivals start in full force. Perfect timing while the leaves are falling off the trees and turning colors. Then winter hits again and downtown becomes a winter wonderland. Blue Ridge is a great place to be year round. Come Visit us in the North Georgia Mountains!
